While some of it is for stuff like produce which I would be wary of eating, a lot of it is something like 20 sealed loaves of bread in a bag by themselves. I wouldn't consider it unsafe to consume. In fact, I have before! It tasted good and did not make me sick. I don't know that I would do it myself, most of the time, it's not as gross as you think!
