I go back and forth on purchasing the more expensive dog food for our two dogs. Whenever I try and skimp on them I notice an increase in shedding and hunger. They just don't get the same nutrients out of a corn based dog food. Costco has some great Kirkland brand dog food that have worked well for our pups. I hate skimping on them, as they are our family too. If my hair started falling out and I felt hungry all the time, I hope someone would change my diet too :)

I have to disagree on the batteries (especially). A few years ago, one of the news programs, dateline, 20/20, etc conducted a test on batteries and many of the store brands outlasted the name brands. They (the news program) said all 3 companies made the the store brands, but none of the companies would say which store brands they made.

Since the report aired, we had Kmart file for bankruptcy and their largest creditor was Sara-Lee (which owns Eveready batteries), is it possible that (at least before the bankruptcy) that Eveready made the Kmart batteries.

I disagree on shampoo... Conditioner, yes, spend the extra. Shampoo, not so much, Suave works just fine. For me anyways.

I completely agree about shampoo/conditioner and pet food! I thought I was the only one spending extra money on those items ... good to know I'm not alone. :)
